Metastatic Breast Cancer

Deltra James was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer at age 33, with metastasis to her liver. Since then she has stepped into the realm of advocacy work, sharing her story and experiences through writing, podcasts, on discussion panels, and by joining forces with organizations to improve care and relationships between patients and health care professionals. She also facilitates virtual support groups, helping others navigate life after diagnosis with focuses on parenting, divorce, mental health, and end-of-life planning. Deltra lives in Connecticut, where she was born and raised, with her daughters.
